Household Management Transformation for a Luxury Shophouse in Singapore
For an entrepreneurial family in Singapore, Stefan Schöning was invited to refine the operations and atmosphere of their elegant shophouse residence, a home that frequently welcomes valued guests and embodies the unique blend of warmth and sophistication that defines Singaporean hospitality.
The clients recognized exceptional potential in their long-term domestic helper and sought to elevate both her skills and the overall household structure. What followed was a transformative collaboration that enhanced the residence, empowered the team and created a home that now reflects the effortless refinement the family envisioned.
The Opportunity: Elevating a Singapore Residence & Empowering the Household Team
A family of entrepreneurs acquired a beautifully restored luxury shophouse in Singapore and sought a comprehensive elevation of both household operations and service culture.
They wished to ensure that their frequent guests experienced an exceptionally high level of care, delivered with confidence, warmth and international standards.
At the same time, they saw great potential in their long-term domestic helper and wanted to develop her into a capable, empowered house manager who could oversee the residence and support the family with greater independence.
My Approach: Developing Systems, Training the House Manager & Enhancing the Home Atmosphere
I began with a detailed needs assessment and a deep understanding of the family’s lifestyle, routines and expectations. Based on this, I developed a tailored household management concept designed to bring structure, clarity and excellence to the daily operations of the residence.
A key pillar of the project was the transformation of the existing domestic helper into a highly capable house manager. Through personalised coaching, structured training and close collaboration with the family, she evolved from a traditional housekeeper into a confident leader able to supervise colleagues and proactively manage the home.
In parallel, I supported the lady of the house in refining the atmosphere and aesthetic of the residence, selecting high-quality tableware, elegant décor and refined room fragrances to create an environment truly befitting a Singaporean luxury shophouse.
